Safe Updates
Update without holding your breath. Takes a snapshot before a plugin, theme or core update, checks the site afterwards, and puts everything back on its own if the update broke it. Designed to build on the snapshots of WellTend Snapshots and the checks of WellTend Health Monitor.
What it will do
- Take a snapshot of your settings and the versions you are about to replace, before each update.
- Check the site right after: fatal errors in the log, and a failed health or loopback request.
- Roll the update back automatically when the check fails, and tell you in plain language what happened.
Why it exists
Most updates are fine, and the one that is not tends to arrive on a Friday. A broken update is easy to undo only if the undo was prepared before it happened.

This is an idea in the workshop, not a released plugin. There is nothing to download, and plans can change or the idea can be dropped.
